If you are one of the growing number of couples who want to legally marry in Norway, then you should start here at the Norwegian tax office where you can apply for the ‘certificate of no impediment to enter into marriage’. This is available to non-Norway residents also. You can choose to be married by the local mayer or by a Humanist.

To make things simpler, many couples prefer to do the legal marriage in their home country first, then they are free to have a celebrant ceremony anywhere in Norway that they like.
